head size
ist it true that the biggest valves being the 2.02 and 1.94s are too big for a street car. a guy at a performance racing shop said that they are to high flowing and are not that good for the street. is that true. to some extent? or is he full of shiznit?
I say it is bs. Tons of factory heads built for street driving with 20 plus miles per gallon fuel requirements and high vacuum requirements run 1.94 heads. Drive any stock L98 f-body. Very streetable. And really the volume of the runners and size of camshaft used is probably more important for streetablility than the actual valve size. I have 305 HO heads that have been fitted with 2.02 intake valves with the 270HR comp cams camshaft and it gets decent mileage and behaves very well.
And if he is talking about low end torque again the size of the runners probably is more important to look at. Putting 2.02 valves in a set of 160cc heads will probably still be a very torquee set of heads. While putting them is 220cc heads will probably be a higher reving higher horsepower maker.

well he did say that i wouldnt noticed much difference except int he high end but he said if its for the street it wont see to much high end anyway. he pretty much told me its a waste. i think he ment waste/effort so i can see that i was just confused.
