Heavy a$$ seat removal

How much weight do you think I'll be saving if I swap out my cloth GTA seats for a set of regular Firebird seats in my Formula?

I figure all that electric air bladder gizmo stuff must be adding at least 10-20lbs per seat.

I'm not sure how much the powered seats weigh but a regular one is around 25 pounds.

So I'm guessing a GTA seat would weigh around 35-40 lbs? Can any of you GTA guys verify this?

In my opinion, they shouldnt weigh that much more than they non power ones. But if you have the power ones, I would be happy and keep them personally.

Ha! You'd be suprised at how heavy that motor assembly is.

I yanked my factory powered seats out long ago. I ran a non powered seat for a couple of years. In searching for more ways to reduce weight I now have a race bucket that must weight only 10 pounds. I could go with an even lighter aluminum seat but it costs about twice as much.

I actually like them a lot, but they are getting worn and I figured if I could save some weight and get stock Formula seats, they would be worth replacing. I dont have the air bladder buttons wired n anyway. The telescopic headrests are pretty damn cool though.

If I find a real nice set of regular black front buckets on Ebay for cheap, I might do it. Otherwise, I'll get these redone. How much do you think that would cost?
