What is this little light?
The light to the right of my rear defrost button goes on and off by its self for times. I can turn it off some times with the off button.
The car is a 1986 trans am. I just got it 3 weeks ago so im still finding out neet things in it.

On my Camaro, the rear defrost light will light up if one of the defrost wires is disconnected at the rear window and then I step on the brake pedal.
Open your rear hatch and see if one of the four connectors came off. Plug it back in and voila!

When that lite comes on it means that your third brake lite is not coming on. The reason it is not coming on is because the wires coming from behind the sail panel (where your speakers are) haave come out from the conectors on the hatch window. Just slide them back in and your 3rd lite and your defrost will work again. Especially on an '86 this happens a lot. The third brake lite was a new thing that year.
