I have just come across all the parts to convert my 87 Formula 350 car to the serpentine belt setup. I have the 2 aluminum brackets, tensionor pulley, alternator, A/C compressor, water pump, power steering pump, metal fuel lines, and the shorter a/c lines.
Is there anything else that I need before I start?
The Camaro's battery is on the opposite side as the firebirds and the breater snorkle goes to the passenger side, so looking at the Camaro's doesn't answer all my questions. Do I need to change any of breather snorkle/MAF assembly to make the serpentine setup work on the Firebird?
Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I did a couple searchs and couldn't find the answer to this question.
TIA

No one? Somebody has to have done this on a TPI Firebird before.

If you've got the MAF style TPI snorkle that goes out the front and then turns in front of the accessories, you should be able to make it work. If for some reason you have a snorkle that goes over the top of the valve cover (like the dual snorkle), you're screwed.
You didn't mention the three braces that go with that system, two for the AC and one for the alt. They're like long metal bars as thick as your thumb.
You must have the one for the Alt. I've seen too many serp bracketes that are cracked on that side because the owner of the car ran without the brace.

That's the one that I have(the one that goes forward and then turns. I also have those braces that you mentioned. While doing the search for the question about the snorkle, I found where someone on this board had cracked a bracket for lack of the brace, so I went back and made sure that I had all the braces. Looks like I should be smooth sailing then.
Thanks for the info!!
