L-82 ticking

i'm trouble shooting a 76 'vette that has a tickin' sound comming from the driver's side of the engine.
i heard of manifold's getting a bit loose and making that ticking sound but i'm not sure.. the engine "supposibly" got rebuilt last year up to '76 spec. (210hp and low 300 lbs tq?).
the sound didn't seem to be comming from the manifold tho, but as my car was, sounds are deciving from where they come from..
i'm just wondering what the most likelly possibilities are..

At the manifold or collector probably. If the manifolds are original there could be a hole rusted through that would cause a ticking.

Sounds like it could be a rocker arm out of adjustment also?

One of my manifold studs broke in half and created a ticking sound. That could very well be your problem.

Definetly check the rocker arm, this seems to be a recurring problem on my TA, but 10 minutes later its back and good as ever.

well.. i checked the manifold and flange that goes to the exhaust and they were ALL loose..
so i tightened them and started it up and it was still there so i undid the valve cover and checked all the rockers, the intake rocker on the driver side, 2nd piston was knocking.. but there's a lifter down there ticking slightly.. i think it's just crap stuck in there.
a better oil in that motor would help too.. whew.. if i had any gallons laying around i'd do an oil change to something better..
anyways. i go for a ride and the ticking's back.. not as loud as before.. but still there..
wtf?
whatever.. i'll tell him to get that thing tuned up cuz i seriouslly needs it.
(i think it's never been opened up since the mid seventies.. )
in any case, thank you all who responded.
