What would do?
What would you do?
Ok right now i have a 88 sport coupe with a rod knock. I fgure for a little over 800 bucks i can get the car running and painted. 600 for a used 305 with 30,000 on rebuild, installed. And 200 dollars for new paint job, uncle owns a body shop. Now what i am asking is right now all i have put into the car is 1,700 dollars what i paid for. really i want to get rid of it and get an iroc, i got it when i didn't know that there were different styles of camaros. So what i am asking is if i do this i will have 2,500 invested in it total, if i go and sell it after new engine and paint can i get at least that out of it? or should i just cut my loses? It has 130,00 miles on body with a new radiator still under warranty. thats about it everything else is stock. thanks!

If it has a decent paint job and you can prove there is a new motor in it, you might find the right person that is looking for a SC for that price. (like yourself at the time, maybe they won't know the difference between 3rd Gens).

if you want a descent car that goes reasonably fast, then id dump the sprts coupe oif i where you. The tbi'd 305 sucks and the styling isnt as nice as the later cars.Save up another couple of grand and get a decent iroc witha good lower milage engoine. Im pretty happy with mine, though. I spent 1800 for the car and anpother 1300 for a 350. Its reasonably fast and i get an average of 23 miles per gallon. Its alot better than having to buy a 4 banger to get around economicly.
