What size.thread is the nut that holds on the steering wheel?

The steering wheel on a recently aquired project of mine came off while I was driving it. Whoopsie..turns out there was no nut on under the horn button. Managned to save it tho...no damage.

So I need a new nut..but can't exactly take the steering shaft into the store with me. Size please? Thanks.

slide an open end wrench on the stud and you'll know the diameter, 5/8ths i think, then all you have to do is figure out course of fine.

5/8s. I experienced a similiar problem this past summer with an after market wheel. I'd suggest you also locate one of the small retaining clips that hold the nut in place.

Coulda been an oddball metric size for all I know...sticking a wrench on it could still land me with the wrong one. The closest U pull it is 45min away. Not gonna make the trip for a nut

5/8" fine thread...thanks man
