Today my oil gauge shot over to a hundred and I don't know if its a common problem?... but to me it appears to be that on my 84 T/A the fuel gauge that was located next to the airvent duct was constantly malfuctioning and on my 91' the oil gauge is located the same way and goes wacko the same way,has anybody ever had this problem and is it very common?.....and is there a solution?

Oil gauge

this problem seems to be consistant with all pontiacs regardless of the year it seems to be located next to the airvent far right regardless if it is a sensor both the oil/fuel are located in the same place like on a 82-85 the fuelgauge was located next to the air vent and likewise 86-92 the oil gauge was put in the fuels position next to the air vent and the fuel was moved over where the oil use to sit on the dash of a 82-85 T/A plus the car gets regular scheduled oil changes every 3 to 4 months !

oil gauge shot

Does anyone think it could be moisture from the a/c because it is next to the oil gauge I always notice excessive moisture from the a/c on the oil gauge cover and if it is could there be a way to insulate it?
