Gnarled up a lug-nut; can't get tire off now...
Subject pretty much says all. It's on the passenger-rear... I have no idea who put these tires on, but I was out with a torque wrench (because I could get the most leverage with it) trying to pull all of my wheels off, and even with the wrench set to its max of 100 ft/lbs, it was stripping. So now the lug-nut is pretty much rounded off. Any ideas on how to get this SOB off?
you don't need more leverage you need more grip, and you shouldn't use a torque wrech to break fastners loose. try a 6 point socket, try metric, try hammering a socket on, try heat, or cold on the nut and if all that fails several companies make lug nut sockets for rounded edges, mine is made by lisle i think, but i'll bet k&d, snap on , and mac all have them too.

Go to a tire shop...
If you have a decent tire shop near you, they should be able to get it off. I bought a car while back which had wheel locks on it, but no key.
The shop I went to had some kind of special socket they literally beat on to the end of the lugnut, and the were able to take it right off. Like ede said, you need more grip.

If the lugs are exposed enough...
Get a chisel and a hammer. Smack the lug with the chisel so you create burrs and irregularities around the edge of the lug. Then hammer on a 12 point and take it off.

Okay, after going through three sockets (each of which cracked hammering them on), I finally got it off. Good thing, too, 'cause if a socket wouldn't get it, I don't know what would (these are 16" IROC wheels and the lugs are recessed).
The only question now is where to get a new lug--the IROC ones are special because they've got the threads on the outside for the plastic covers.
Also, if anybody knows offhand... what is the torque-spec for lug nuts? I've never really worried about torque specs, but now that I've got a torque wrench I figure I've got no excuse not to do everything to spec...
Thanks all
