What are Various Bolt Sizes, NEED answers by morning

Im going to a junk yard to get some various bolts that I need in the morning instead of spending like $2 or $3 per bolt from dealers. Does anyone know what size these bolts are , standard/metric? Will I need Deep Sockets for oil pump bolts?

What Im getting are:

Centerbolts Valve Cover Bolts (stars or Allens?)
Oil Pump Bolts
Oil Pan Bolts
Water Pump Bolts
Lifter Guide Retainer

center bolt cover bolts will be the torx screws. i just use a flat head screwdriver on mine.

oil pump bolt should be a 3/8" with 9/16" head

water pump should be a 3/8" with 9/16" head as well

i'm not sure about the thread sizes....

also, plan on an extension and deep well socket for the oil pump bolt.

they should be the same for all small blocks up to the 92-up LT1.

the oil pump bolt i used in my 305 came from a 327.

If I remember right, oil pan bolts (and timing cover and perimeter bolt valve covers) are 1/4"-20.

Also, any 3/8" bolts are more than likely the coarse thread 3/8"-16 since I can't come up with any fine thread bolts on our engines. I know once I write this though, somebody will come up with one. Hope not though...

Oh, one more thing. Why not get bolts from the hardware store? Yeah, you'll have to figure out how long they need to be before hand, but prices aren't bad.

You are wanting to know what size the heads on the bolts are so you know what tools to bring with you, right?
For the valve covers, T30 torx.
The oil pump, either 5/8 or 11/16, I'm not for sure which
Oil pan, 3/8 on the smaller bolts, and 1/2 on the larger corner bolts.
Water pump, 9/16
Spider thingy... no clue. 1/2 or 9/16.

The oil pump bolt (only one of it) is a special bolt... it's 7/16"-14 x 1-15/16" long; if you use a shorter bolt it won't catch the threads, if you use a longer one it will hit the back of the main bearing shell and smash it against the crank. Get the right thing, but not at the dealer. No deep well socket required.

Oil pan bolts are ¼"-20 x ¾" except the 4 corner ones which are 5/16"-18 x ¾".

Water pump bolts are 3/8"-16 x 2". I like to use stainless allen head ones.
