Anyone running the GM "deluxe" crate?
Anyone running the GM "deluxe" crate?
Ok I just got a holley street avenger 670cfm and Im about to order a edelbrock RPM airgap for the vortec heads to put on this motor. Think this will be at or over the 330hp rating?
also how strong is this motor? could it take a small shot of n2o without any problems?

A good part of the almost $1000 difference between the "HO" and "HO Deluxe" are the intake and carb. Why did you get the Deluxe if you planned on putting on something else? I suppose you could sell the carb and intake that come with it and still spend less than you would have with damper, water pump, flexplate & distributor, and SA carb & RPM intake.
The RPM intake and the cam that comes with the engine will be a mismatch, meaning your power will probably drop below 330. Well, it might still make 330 HP peak, but the torque below will suffer. If you want to put enough cam in it to work the RPM, then you need to pull the heads and have them worked over for the additional lift.
The engine has cast pistons. It will take a moderate amount of spray, but if you let it go lean, kiss your ring lands goodbye.

Well I could go with the regular performer intake then. I already have a water pump and damperer (305 one work or no?) I want to get a good distributer like a MSD or something. I went ahead and did it this way so I could get the carb, intake, and distributer i want,.
