special puller for power steering pump??

special puller for power steering pump??

hey guys i need to replace my power steering pump cause it leaks and is just shot, now do i need any type of special tools or pullers to get it off, cause it looks liek the pully needs to come off the get the pump off. thanks

Yes.

You can "rent" the puller at places like Auto Zone etc. You also need a "pusher"; often they supply one of those with the pump.

The washers that come with the power steering pumps often bend out of shape before the pulley properly seats on the pump shaft. If you're getting your parts at autozone, take advantage of their free tool rental offer.
