i have an 84 z28. the mc selenoid isn't working causing it to run real rich. i think it is a bad ecm. everything is hooked up right and the selenoid is good. i can't get any engine codes and the engine light is on all the time. do you think it is the ecm? if not what could it be? thx

 

When you first power up the ECM (turn on the ignition WITHOUT cranking the engine) what does the lamp do?

 

The engine light just comes on and stays on.

 

If you watch closely, it SHOULD turn on breifly, then off breifly, then back on, and remain on until the engine is running.

 

i am pretty sure it just comes on and stays on once the key is turned on and it stays on while its running. i'l check it more closely later.

 

I would have to say it was the ECM.....I'm having similar difficulties.
