How much metal is too much?
I just got my 91 Z put back together. It has a 8000 mile zz4 engine. I put in new bearings, rings, and redid the heads. I got ALOT of metal in the oil only after 15 min of driving. Now how much metal in the oil is normal?

only had small ammounts of metal in the oil in my engine after break in and the metal was in particle form to give you some idea. if the oil looks like silver spray paint then you probably made a mistake somewhere with the clearences or the re-assy. of the motor.

Any at all is too much. None whatsoever is normal. Whatever is shedding enough metal to be visible, isn't destined for this world very long.
What is it? Steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper? That's a good clue as to what it is.
