What the ..?
I was under the hood today working on the intake system, getting it ready for my new parts. All of a sudden I noticed the outer pulley groove on the crank pulley was empty. The culprit was the A.I.R. pump. It had no pulley on it.
So I am obviously running without it. Do I really need it? What does it do? If I don't need it, I'm sure there are other parts not doing a thing. What would they be? I know it's an emission thing, but I don't get tested so that's no problem(my cat is gutted anyway) Any views or answers would be greatly appreciated

No problems unless/until you have to go through an emissions inspection and/or test.

You don't need it. What it does is it injects air into the exhaust to burn up unburnt fuel. You can go ahead and take off the AIR pump, and the lines going to the manifolds. You will have to plug them then, but I'm not quite sure what size caps you need.
