Help with fuels?

more power. stay away from methanol if you don't know what you're doing, it'll trash a lot of seals if your system isn't set up for it. i ran it for years in the little briggs lawn mower engines, makes a lot of power and you'll never lean an engine out running it, but like i said it's hard on soft seals in the fuel system. av gas is just high octane gasoline.

alright, got another for ya theres a guy around here (south fl) thats runing av gas in his 68' BB camaro, he says it'll run on pump gas but he can hardly rev it when he dose, and was also saying he adds something (don't remember what it was) to the av gas because its a little dry..? can you expain that for me? oh yeah, would i beable to run av gas in my stock 305, would it make more power, and are there any up or down sides to it? the dude was saying he gets the stuff for like $1 a gal, i figure that beats the $1.65 i'm paying for the mid grade...

i'd guess he's adding a valve lube to the fuel. lot of people are under the mistaken impression more octance = more power. the truth is more octance is harder to light and all else being equall will not give you more power.
