Complete Fuel Line Replacement
Complete Fuel Line Replacement
My fuel line is really rusty on my '88 GTA. I am afraid it will snap if I even attempt to change the filter. How difficult is it to replace the entire line? Is it a major pain without access to a lift?
Also, anyone know what a fuel line parts cost?
Thanks,
J

I just had my fuel pump replaced and the guys told me the lines were getting very rusty so I too would like to know where to get and how to install fuel lines.

You could try www.classictube.com or www.inlinetube.com. You can get them prebent from these places. I don't believe GM or part stores carry them prebent.
Changing them is really no harder than changing anything on your car. Unbolt and bolt. The higher you get the car though the easier it'll be.

while we are on this subject, does anyone happen to know on the 2.8L MPFI cars how long the fuel lines are from the fuel tank and forward til the next fitting/joint ?

GM does sell the feed and return lines still. they do come pre bent already and fit perfect. I put mine in last year. They where about $35 for the both of them. They do not sell the pre bent vent line anymore. All they have is a roll of tube in its place. They are Ac/Delco parts also.

Just cal the dealer ans tell him what you need. I do not know if the v6 and v8 cars had different size lines. I did mine on 4 stands. while your under there, replace any rubber fuel lines that connect the hard lines on the sender to the hard lines your replacing. Not sure what size off hand. Just take a peek under there and see then go to autozone or something and get new hoses and a filter.
