hey im sure someone know this 1.. how does the fuel guage work on it.. its stuck at full.. is there a sending unit? no clue here.. any info would be helpful so i know what to fix hehe

disconnected wire....

high reading = high resistance, low reading = short to ground

Yes. Well, not exactly electonic, but electric. Cars have had electric gas gauges since at least the 40s. The sending unit is a variable resistor, sort of like a volume control, that lives inside the tank; it has a float on an arm just like a toilet, that works the variable resistor. Pretty simple really.

yep thats what it was.. the connection on top of the tank was corroded.. thanx!
