roller cam
i want to put in a roller cam. i'm thinking of going to about a comp 252 or a little more. i want to go a little more than the 252 with about 206/212 duration and .480 lift. the duration is about the same as my cam now but the lift is much more. will i lose any low end by going to the 252? what roller cam is about equal to the hydrolic flat tappet 262?

the amount of money you sink in a roller could be better spent on more displacement
a 350 would not cost much more than the hyd-cam and lifters. Your talking 500bucks for just those two parts min.

just want to make sure you know that you HAVE to either have a block set up for roller cams from the factory or get all the retrofit stuff to put a roller cam in. you cannot put a roller cam in a flat tappet engine. do not use solid lifters if this car will be daily driven because you have to adjust the lifters every now and then to keep them at proper clearance

i know you gota get all of the retro fit lifters and shorter pusrods and all. and i don't mind adjusting the valve lash once in a while. i've already figured out that its going to be about 650 minimum for the parts and when i do it i'l probably get the heads machined for screw in studs and larger springs. i'm probably going to do it later when i have more money and just get a bigger flat tappet cam.
