To keep down the formation of nitrogen oxide compounds (pollutants), the combustion temperature needs to be controlled. An easy way to do that is to "contaminate" the intake charge with a little exhaust gas. The time and amount that some exhaust gas is recirculated into the intake charge is controlled by the EGR valve.

I went to that site just for a look, and I'm laughing my ash off. Right on top of their header, just before the link to "Performance Parts 4 Cheap" is the link to "Buy Stickers". How do you argue with that mentality (or the lack thereof)?
