The waterpump I have now does the job, but I can tell it's a real cheap piece of crap. The lady who originally bought the car had it put on just before I bought. . . strange thing is, it's the only part of the engine that looks like rust and it doesn't sound too good either. It's a lot louder than it should be. Besides that, the temp goes up and down quick, but I digress.

What's a good waterpump for our cars? I've used the Edelbrock Victor series before on another car and was extremely pleased with it, but I've heard some good things about Stewarts? I'm not sure about the different stages you can buy or if it should be a long or short waterpump.

Price, reliability and effectiveness should all be taken into account.

Even though I haven't used them yet, most everyone here will tell you to get a Stewart.

FWIW- I run an Edelbrock pump and I've been really happy with it. It's been on my car for 7 years and it has yet to leak and cools pretty good! But when it does take a dump, I'll probably get a Stewart.

Stewart definitely does a great job at cooling.

Any of the 'major' brands of water pumps will do a better job at cooling than the stock unit will ever do.....

Don't they come in stages? Which one is good for noraml street use?. . . Long or short?

You need the "long". The short one hasn't been used on any cars since the late 60s, but is widely used in race-only applications.
