Name the plastic peice I broke!
While I was tuning up the iroc today I noticed that I had a really crimped vacuum hose coming from the back of the tpi unit. Im guessing its the manifold vacuum line and it goes into this plastic piece that separates the air into two lines, one going to the firewall on the pass. side and the other going to a sensor that is clipped onto the driver side. My car had some bad idle problems and im guessing the crimped line caused it. Upon installing the new vacuum line, the old line was stuck to the pos plastic piece and as I tugged the piece gave way and broke. What is this thing called? Why does it always seem that when you fix one problem you create another? These stupid plastic pieces have always given me a hard time, thanks for any help

I broke mine too...it was so crusty and brittle. I believe it was called an "air diverter". It keeps vacuum in the system after the engine is off. In other words, lets vac. in one way, but not back out. It was very cheap...picked it up at autozone. Only dont ask them for it, because they will be on their little computer forever trying to find it...you'll be much better off just looking in the HELP! section as mentioned before. Make sure none of the broken pieces of plastic get sucked into the vac. hose though....

Thanks guys, I found a three prong vacuum thing in the help section, and while it didnt resemble the part it replaced at all, the hoses all fit onto it nicely. Will this cause a problem? I plan on getting the proper part later, but for now I dont see this as a problem.
