IROC guages into '83
IROC guages into '83
I have an IROC I'm parting out and I want to put the guages in my '83 to replace the crap that it came with. The '83 has the standard guages(speedo and fuel), what do I need to make the IROC guages work? I'm adding the tach, charge, temp, and oil pres. along with it having the 145mph speedo to replace the 85mph one the car came with.

The cluster swaps right in, you don't have to do anything to the speedo... you'll need an oil pressure sending unit instead of the switch, same for temp; not sure about the tach (whether the wiring is in the non-gauge harness for it).

Take a look at the wires going to your distributor cap. If there is a tach wire next to the power wire, then it should be already wired and ready to go.
