real quick help please

I need to know the differences and pros/cons between a hydraulic Roller and a Hydraulic Flat Tappet cam. Also is a stock L98 engine(350tpi) is originally equipped with a Hydraulic Roller.
thanks alot for a fast response

Hydraulic roller has a roller following the cam lobe, flat tappet has a flat (slightly tapered on some designs) surface following the cam lobe.

Advantages of a roller design is less operating friction, and ability to design steeper lobes for faster lifting and closing of the valve.

Advantage of flat tappet is cheaper manufacturing cost, and therefore lower prices.

Assuming the L98 you're asking about is an '87 or newer, it came from the factory with hydraulic roller cam/lifters.
