odd sound with.. suspension?

Hello, I have a 1984 pontiac firebird. It drives well, but the problem is there is a 'clunking' noise whenever hitting a bump. You can feel it too. It has new shocks in it, and I checked those and they were in tight. The sound usually sounds like it's coming from the right rear. My friend said it could be the rear-end, but I'm not certain. The car does not have a posi-track rear end, but it squeels the tires on the right rear, so I don't know if that's what it is.

What do you think?

Possible causes: Upper shock mount broken out of the body (very very common, first thing to checks, pull up the carpet behind the back seat to see it); loose bracket for stabilizer bar end link; bad control arm bushings.
