I am looking into the SDPC vortec TPI setup and it says it requires the use of the EGR kit. I do not want to cut a hole in my nice SLP headers for a stupid EGR valve. So can I sucessfully run these heads on my tpi engine, get the computer reprogrammed and not have any drivibility problems..... I know I need the base too

 

yes you can but, as you know it is not going to pass a smog test

 

Yes, and like mentioned, the only real consideration is whether or not you have to pass a visual smog test.

You can just burn your own chip, or have someone do it, and they can turn the EGR OFF in the chip parameters.

well here in Mass, there do check the smog stuff but mainly the cats only. it depends where you go. I have a few hook ups that canget me a sticker too. I just want to get rid of all un needed stuff under the hood
