what does this sensor do???
I was putting a set of block hugger headers on the wife's 260Z this weekend, and ran into a little clearance issue with a sensor on the RH side (starter side) of the 89 tpi 350 that's in there. It is about 1.25" round and threads into the water jacket on the side of the block right above the oil pan. I have 2 questions really. First, is this the coolant temp sensor for the fuel injection? And secont can I use a 90 degree pipe fitting to relocate it? The collector of the header touches it as it is, and if it is the coolant temp sensor, the fuel injection needs it so I can't remove it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. My digital camera is FUBAR so I can't get any pics of it until Monday when I go back to work.
Thanks
Thanks
it's a knock senser, i'd move it to the other side of the block before trying to add els or nipples to get it out of the way. there's a hole on each side of the block so no drilling or tapping is required.
