bolt size? and bad oil leak
i got a really quick question. does anyone know what size the bolts are for the flywheel inspection plate on a T5? i lost mine when i was building my engine, and sorta used zipties for a while (i know, i know, *cough* HACKER *cough*). but since i just finished doing my clutch and my car will be on jackstands till the weather clears up, i want to make sure everything is done the right way.
also, i've had a bad oil leak since i took my intake manifold off. i think it might be the rear china wall gasket, but i want to make sure before i take all that stuff off again. it doesn't leak at idle when stationary, but everything under the car is covered in oil, and if i drive on wet roads, you can follow the pretty colored trail for miles. i just had the tranny out so i know it isn't the rear main seal, replaced the oil pressure sending unit, dist. is clamped down tight. sound like the china wall gasket?

The bolt size is 6mm I think... they're the standard metric size that uses a 10mm head, whichever size that is.
Did you by any chance remove your smog pump at the same time you removed your intake? I assume you put the intake back.... but is the smog pump still gone?

thanks for that bolt size!
about that smog pump, the car used to belong to my friend before i knew him. they put a 350 in and ripped all of the smog stuff out. i've never even seen it in the car. why do you ask?

Go down to my second reply, about halfway down. I post this all the time, it's amazingly common... I wonder sometimes how much extra profit the oil companies have made from that one bolt hole.
