this is very weird......

im rebuilding my lo3. when i went to auto zone to buy a replacment timing set they gave me one that did not fit. the cam gear was to big for my cam (the three holes looked like it was for a bigger cam) i returened it and bought a new one from oriely. same thing!!! the guy tore open every set for camaros a found the right one. the book said however it was for a v-6 camaro. is this a mistake in there books? or is my engine not a lo3? (yes im sure its a v8)

if the cam is for a small block chevy it should work. do u have a book or something to help u along with the buildup? might be a good idea to invest in one.

AFAIK, the cam snout hasn't changed its bolt pattern since 1955. Are you checking it against the the cam that is in the engine, or a spare cam that you picked up as a replacement?
