Auto Meter tach with MSD ignition???

I have an Auto Meter 5" monster tach in my car right now. I remember when I installed it reading something about MSD ignitions, either you had to hook it up differently or it voided the tach's warranty or something like that. I'm getting an MSD ignition now, and I lost the instructions. Any idea what this is about? Thanks in advance.

got the instructions infront of me...
On electronic ignitions, such as GM, HEI, MSD or Crane connect wire to tach terminal.
WARNING: Warranty will be void if connected to coil on MSD ignitions. Attach only to tach terminal.

There is a seperate terminal on the MSD box that allows for tach hookup. You will see it.
