i dont know if my lock is jammed or if it is some kind of safety feature? i have an automatic tranny, so you have to push the button down to be able to shift. and i got a neon shifter light, made a bar that fits into the shaft and tightened the shifter down so it is acting as if it is pushing the button in. cuz it was a cheap plastic **** from wal-mart and i didn't want to keep having to push down on the plastic, cuz im sure ti would break soon...

anyways, i know, and dont care that i have to leave the key in my car because with the **** being pushed down it doesnt let the key come out .. probably a safety feature im sure... but a day after i put that shifter **** in my driver side door lock is jammed. i have power windows , when i hit lock it locks the passenger door, and the driver side door just makes a click sound. if i try to manually lokc the door, it doesnt move.. i didnt really wanna shove it hard incase it has somehting in the way or soemthing and bending the lock bar.

i took the shifter **** off and tried locking the door, neither worked (power or manually). so now i have to leave my driver side door unlocked, i dont like that at all.. am i gonna have to take apart my door to try and fix this? or is there an easy way?

also if i do have to take the door apart, how the hell do you get the black part on the top of the door panel off? my 82 camaro i got off pretty easy... but it wouldnt go back on ... it busted in 3 pieces... guess i pulled too hard?

i have a 90 RS it has the VATS thing... power locks ... manual windows. dont know if there is anymore info you guys will need, if there is just lemme know thanks alot.
