intake vs exhaust valves (dumb question)

intake vs exhaust valves (dumb question)

Bare with me .

Which valves are for exhaust and which the intake? Im almost embarassed to ask but want to know how to tell the difference from each other. This is on a 305.

the big ones are for the intake, small for the exhaust. by size, i mean the radius of the plate on the bottom.

Or, if you're looking at an assembled engine, look at the intake ports and the exhaust manifold ports.... the intake valves line up with the intake ports, and the exhaust valves line up with teh exhaust manifold ports. From front to rear, or rear to front, they're E I I E E I I E.
