Compression
Compression
How much is too much when it comes to engine compression?
Someone once told me that you can run 10.1 using 92 octaine and a full point higher when using a cylinder head like AFR.
I'm assembling a 383 for my 91 Z28 fitted with AFR 190 heads so is it possible to run 11.1 without any detonation?
Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't really matter what your static compression ratio is, the dynamic compression ratio is most important. It dictates what octane fuel you have to run.
