Got some new heads today.Any good?
There is a guy that runs a little store around here.He has a bunch of car parts at his house and he is getting rid of them.Anyway he had a set of heads that I got.The casting # is 462264.I looked them on on a web-site and it says they have 1.94 intake valves. Not sure on chamber size.
Also I have a comp cam with .470 lift.I plan on running 1.6 roller rockers.Which should be around .510 lift.(correct me if I am wrong.I am pretty new at this stuff)
The valve springs the cam card says I need are part # 981-16.
Will I pull the stock pressed in rocker studs out?
Thanks for any help. The guy also has a a 4 bolt main 350.I am waiting for him to bring to the store. One of my buddies is getting it.But I am sure I can swindel it off of him for minimal amount of cash. Can you say 383 next winter!

Where did you look up the head casting number? The closest thing I can find is 462624. That says "smog heads" all over it - i.e., 76cc chamber boat anchors.
.470" lift w/1.5:1 rockers = .501" w/1.6:1 rockers. Either way, use screw-in studs.

THey are the worst of the worst.
Please have them melted down before the sun rises on them again.
I hope you didn't pay money for those.... they have negative worth to me. I have actually paid somebody to come and haul some of those off.

Junk!!! don't bother. :sillylol:
Well drat.I am having a hard time finding some decent heads. No I didn't pay for them.I have those vortecs I guess I am going to have to shell out the money to have them setup right.I was trying to avoid going with them.Because the different style intake.I was planning on getting some aftermarket one's.I guess I can run the vortecs on this and get aftermarket heads for the 383.
I am still going to have to look into those 305 heads off a stock car.It was a modified and I am pretty sure they are race ported which I am not sure would be good on the street or not.
And I believe the web-site I looked the casting # up on was nastyz-28.com or something like that.I will look.
