different valve springs for 1.6's?

I have a comp cams 270h cam.The cam card says I need 981-16 valvesprings.Which have 110@1700 pounds of pressure.(whatever that means)I plan on running 1.6 rockers which should give me a tad more lift.So am I going to need stiffer valvesprings than this?

I finnally found a place that will do heads cheap.Woohoo!

you should be fine, unless your springs are old and weak

That means the springs have 100 lbs of pressure at an installed height of 1.700" (stock height).

As long as your total valve lift is less than .500", they should be OK.

It would be borderline. The 270H has a .470 lift with 1.5 rockers. Switching to 1.6 rockers gives .501 lift. Although stock type springs would work, you're getting very close to having coil bind.

It's not that you need stiffer valve springs, you need a set that allows greater lift without coil bind.

981 springs are rated for a max of .450 lift. 983 would be closer to what you need.
