say u r are driveing doin like 60 or 70 kph, can u drop into first gear goin that fast?? whats the top speed u can drop your gears at??? i dont want to brake anything. i am talkin auto here.

 

SURE! ill bet you could even drop it into first going alot faster than that if you wanted to. however, if you'd like to keep your car intact, keep reading.....

before my rear end swap, i think mine used to shift at about 35, now at like 30. 70kph is like 45 mph. and even if everything would hold together why would you want to? you'd be so far beyond the power range of the engine it wouldnt do any good anyway. let your transmission downshift on its own.

 

Lets see what would go first, the Transmission or the Rear Axle after you downshift to 1st gear with your 700R4 over 40 MPH????

 

theres my answer dont drop to first. i asked because if u drop to second it give u a power boost for passing and was just wondering if first was the same.
