vibrations at 2,000 to 2,500 any solutions

I know this has been asked many times by many people but, I havent found the solution to my problem.... I am refering to the car in my sig I have a vibration between 2,000 and 2,500 rpm. I have checked the obvious flexplate, balancer, mounts, and drive shaft weights etc...... has anyone came up with any other suggestions that might cause this. The vibration only occurs in the fore mentioned rpm range. Is it just a problem with sbc's. Anyone have a clue or suggestions on this feel free to reply?

Ive got the same prob after puting a 350 in mine. My guess is that wshen I pulled the motor out and left the trans in, I messed up the converter. did u replace the trans or take them out together?

Hey shagme,

I pulled the motor and left the tranny and converter in. I did just have a thought thou. I recently had my I pipe welded in and I noticed that the muffler shop welded the pipe to the bracket on the transmission tail housing without and shock absorbing material. You know like a rubber hanger of some sort. I cant remember if it did this when I didnt have the I-pipe in though? My thought is maybe the I pipe is vibrating the tranny and I am feeling it in the car. On the other hand I thought I might hav felt the vibration throughout the rpm range

actually mine isnt hanging. It is actually bolted to the transmission via the old hanger.. what the guy at the muffler shop did was cut the hanging portion off and welded a flange to the pipe and bolted it to the transmission. There is nothing there to absorb the pulses and shock of the exhaust except for the transmission
