I just dropped a 350 into my 89 camaro. I have to keep the TBI setup for a little while longer until I don't have to worry about passing emissions, however, the old PROM isn't compatible. What Chip can I put in there and get it to work. Everyone's help would greatly be appreciated. Is this why the engine runs doggish when it warms up, and is this why the timing constantly retards when it warms up?

Thanks, Mike

Burnt,
It would seem your lack of power and pre-ignition both stem from an overly lean condition.
Before a chip, try the injectors from a police package Impala 350, or a HD truck w/350 TBI.
Adjustable fuel pressure will also help fine tune your fuel system.
If you want more performance later, you can add a Holley TBI and manifold.
Many of us here are generating well over 300HP with 350 TBI engines.

Helped out on this swap a few weeks ago, guy went from a 305 TBI in his '91 RS to a caprice replacemnet motor (350).

Used the 305 EPROM, 350 injectors, 350 knock sensor....car runs well, WOT O2's are in the 900-920 range, he did make his FP adjustable, but we ended up putting it back real close to the stock location.

Once he get's rid of the 305 gardenhose exhaust, he'll have a good runner.
