Chip won't control fan?!!!?
I have a hypertech thermo chip in my car and it works great. Only problem is that I have a 160 thermo in (recomended) but the car still heats up to ~220. I noticed that the fan doesn't turn on so I wired up a switch to turn the fan on but shouldn't the chip control the fan so that it comes on earlier? This is a 91 TBI 305 auto.

JP,
how did you wire your fan? Because I want to do the same thing too, but since my fan is ECM controlled (like yours), I can't really wired it from the fan switch, can I?
Thanks!

The fan on TBI cars is controlled by the fan temperature switch, not the ECM.
Switch is located on the right(pasenger) side head, just above the starter motor.
Different temperature on/off switches are available.
