700r4 hesitating between shfts

I just replaced my 700r4 in my 85 Z28 with a rebuilt one that came out of a 84 pontiac wagon. It holds my motor just fine except for in between shifts it dosnt engage the next gear fast enough and my motor loses load for a second and then engages. It does this in all gears.......Please Help

I have tried messing with the tv cable and it does the same thing? I thought that it only controls shift points?

I hate to tell you this, but it sounds like your trans is going out

My tranny did the same thing. It sliped from 1st to 2nd then shifter realy hard (like a shift kit, but I did not have one).

If I am wrong, great. But, if I am right, your "rebuilt" tranny is going to need to be "rebuilt" again.
