Anyone know if a thirdgen V6 T5 tranny will bolt in my 87 S10 4cylinder??

basically that sums it up. I have a chance to buy a good V6 thirdgen T5 and happen to need one REAL bad for my 87 S10, 2.5 5-speed. I know the casing would be different for the torque arm provisions, which I dont need on the truck, but as far as everything fitting together, imput shaft...driveshaft. I am going to use my trucks bellhousing and clutch, just simply switch trannys...if possible

thanks
Randy

As far as I know no. I swaped a new tranny in to my friends s-10 and it was diffrent looking than a junk a camaro t-5, That was a t-5 from a v-8 though. But I think the v-6 &v-8 t-5 look alike.

If it does bolt up, you'll have a problem with the shifter being in the incorrect location for the S-10, unless you can swap the tailshaft section.

The trans mount and shifter will be at the wrong angle (rotated 30º toward the pass side).

I'd say no, it won't go.
