bent flywheel

well, after having bad vibration, i checked out my flywheel with the engine running, and i can see that it is bent/warped. at the teeth it looks to have about a 1/4" of movement. would this cause an awful vibration? if so, how hard is it to change one. i also would like to change my torqu convertor at the same time. do i have to pull both the engine and tranny or neither? its a 383 and th-400. thanks

You have to pull the trans.Fairly easy/straight forward job.Be sure not to over torque the bolts when you put it back together though.

you would still need to drop the tranny. the torque convertor slides over the input shaft on the tranny and the only way to get it off is to slide it off.
