bad exhaust smell

I have been noticing a weird exhaust smell from my car the past few months. I replaced my catalytic converter a few months ago when I had a nasty rotten egg smell coming from the exhaust. No rotten egg smell anymore, but still a noticeable exhaust smell inside the car whenever I step on it a little. Could this be the O2 sensor? Any help is appreciated.

I have a new catalytic converter and every once in a while on the highway I get the rotten egg smell, it is caused usually by the car running in a rich condition. So your 02 sensor might be causing it, how old is it?

I have a smell that I notice when I stop and have the window down. I think it comes from the exhaust, but it is not the rotten egg smell from the cat. It is hard to describe, more of a sour smell. I have always figured it had something to do with improper fuel/air ratio. It was there before and after I had the cat changed. I have always wondered what caused it myself.

My car is a 91, and I just got it last year. As far as I know the O2 sensor has not been replaced, so I guess it could be that.
