Hey guys, I just finished my car after not driving for about a year. I took it aroudn the block and I noticed one problem, when I speed up, then let go of the gas, the motor makes a chattering noise as the RPM drop. Same thing happens when reviing it in neutral. My timing is adanced 4*.

Also I can't really tell where in the engine it's coming from. It either sounds like a series of small backfires, or accessory chatter maybe.

Has this happened to anybody else, and if so, how did you guys fix it?

The term "chattering" - and only while slowing - makes me think of my exhaust - the metal shield around my old cat makes that noise when I slow - somethings broken loose on mine - just a thought.
