This just started happening.
1) Quite often at idle, volt gage goes up and drops alot, then up, and drops alot, and at night the lights dim when It does this, and also my tac drops when it does this.
2) Sometimes when I hit the gas maybe 1/2 throttle the volts are fine. Other times it dips in to the top red (Which I let off, dont wanna to damage anything)
3) Cruising today my cd player will just shut off, ses light comes on, then the cd player comes back on, and ses light goes away.
Next question
To grab my ses code[s]:
"Insert a tool as described above (paper clip) into the 'A' and 'B' terminals on the ALDL connector:"
Ok I got that.
"The first code will flash three times, and will usually be a code '12'. This is encoded by one flash of the lamp, a brief pause, then two successive flashes of the lamp. Each code will repeat three times, so you should see a "Code 12" flash three times. Any other error codes will follow in numerical order, and each code should flash three times. After all codes have been displayed three times, the "Code 12" will again flash three times, then all other codes will follow as described earlier. This cycle will continue until the jumper is removed or the ignition is turned off."
This is where I lose it. How do you know its a code 12, 34, 43...etc????
12 = This is encoded by one flash of the lamp, a brief pause, then two successive flashes of the lamp.
So if its like a 14, it will flash, pause, then four successive flashes of the lamp?
How would it do it for a code 30 something?
Sorry for being so retarded, thanks.

[EDIT]
I'm a jackass, loose battery connection
Would have been the 1st thing I would have checked, but I just had tightened them last week. What a good job I did
Good thing I checked for the hell of it.

Cool that you figured it out, but I bet you're still unclear on the codes. So here's some help. There are no codes 20, 30, 40, so don't worry about that. After it flashes the two diget code, there is a very long pause between it and the next code, so you can distinguish them better. Once you try it, it will become very evident for you, and you will figure it out.

the lowest code is 12, which reports diagnostics mode
each code 'set' (like between 20 and 30 is one set) starts
with a 1, and ends with a 9, there isn't a 0
so you've got 21 to 29, 31 to 39
And you're not retarded, everyone has to learn somehow eh?
EDIT: Double post, heh, that's what I get for taking so long to
make a post...
