Need Help In San Antonio

Any forum member in the San Antonio area have some free time to help out a man in need? My '87 Formula has me so frustrated I want to scrap it, but I figured I'd ask for help before I went that far.

It basically just has a lot of little things wrong with it that I could use help sorting out and I'd be more than happy to compensate you for your time.

If interested drop me a line at tennysom@hotmail.com

Thanks,

Mike Tennyson

P.S. I'll even provide some high quality Lone Star Light for your drinking pleasure

You could post the symptoms and detail of your problems here and probably get lots of good advice, direction, and suggestions.

Your right Vader. There is tons of good advice here. I was just extremely frustrated last night.

I'll go back to the drawing board and try to sort out my cars issues.

However if anyone still wants to down some Lone Star let me know

I'm a Guiness kind of guy myself. I don't trust any beer that you can see light through. Did you know that on half cup of cream and 41 glasses of Guiness a day meets the Recommended Daily Allowance for nutrition for the average person?

So what are the major symptoms you are experiencing?

Let me give you a little rundown on my car. It was an originally an Lg4/5 speed car but the previous owner ditched the 305 and installed a 350. That's a good thing.

Now for the bad.

- Car starts maybe 1/2 the time. Lot of no spark situations.
- Positive battery cable was smoking last week
- Car runs hot, fan kicks on late.
- Broken, misrouted vacuum hoses,
- AC doesn't work. Connectors melted from resting on valve covers.
- Driveshaft wobble

I had to have the rear end rebuilt (the ring/pinion grenaded on me). I've also had to replace the steering column (did a crappy job), carb, windshield, and headlight motors.

None of my problems are really major (the drivetrain is in good shape) but all the little things are wearing on me. It seems as soon as I fix something something else breaks.

You know, this is my 3rd F body and I haven't had much luck; maybe i should just get a Honda

As for Guiness, I spent 4 years in England while in the Air Force, and I could never get used to the motor oil like consistency. I 'll stick to my sissy light beer

Only 41 glasses? Just remember, there's a sandwich in every beer. Natures perfect food!

From the description of your wiring and vacuum hoses I'd say you could really use a shop manual, like helms. It soulds like alot of your problems are related to improperly mounted or missing ground cables and misrouted vacuum lines and wiring. Get a manual, a good eletrical repair kit, a volt/ohm meter and go through your wiring. 95% of the time it takes forever to find eletrical problems and 5 minutes to fix them. Hope this helps you out a little.
