Stalling under load
Hey, I've recenty come across a great deal on a 84 trans am. It has a pep boys reman 350 (ack) but a brand new TH-400 trans. The problem with the car is it stalls under initial load when shifted into drive. Doesn't happen in reverse or neutral. I am thinking its the converter is locking up.. what would i need to do in order to fix it? He said that the car used to be computer controlled but isn't any longer.. i'm inclined to think maybe they just disconnected the carb and left the converter connected? any thoughts?
