Help needed! Re-routing heater core hoses tomorrow morning...
I'm driving a 1985 IROC-Z with a v8 305 TPI, and the heater core went out on me the other day. I don't have the technical expertise to replace the core myself, but I don't have the money to pay someone else to do it right now either. So, I'm going to re-route the hoses. Can anyone be so kind as to post a generic way to go about doing this? Diagrams, pictures, etc., would be appreciated. This is the first major job I'm doing on the car myself. Thanks!

Yep! Just figured I'd add this: Make sure your new "bypass" hose doesn't rest on the exhaust pipes or engine block or fan belts or etc... you don't want it getting cut/melted open.
And changing the heater core isn't technical at all... just a lot of damn screws that are hard to reach from under the dash. You'll need an aspirin or two for your neck after you're done.

Just connect the two hoses going into the firewall together. I did this when my heater core went bad. Before I connected the hoses together it was leaking, after they were connected leak gone
