How about these for rods?
http://www.primediapowerpages.com/cg...0216&2D1002524
I'm building a motor that will make power to 6000 rpm, and be able to take a 150 shot of nitrous. How would these work? It's either these, lt1 forged (not PM), or "x" rods. Any of the above will have ARP bolts in them.
sorry for the repeated rod posts, just wanna get the best of my options.

i'd look for a rod the used a bolt instead of the nut/bolt arrangement and one with a bronze bushing, even if you don't use it, as long as you're buying a new set of rods. 149 dollars sounds way to cheap to me for a set of rods other than stock replacements.

Looks like a rebuilt stock rod assembly. If you are looking to keep cost down and still get a decent rod..get the PM rods. They are great for the money.I beleive Pace sells them for around $240 a set. What is your price range? Can you afford 4340?

I can afford the PM rods, but i've heard the rotating assembly needs to balanced if i use them. That will cost me another 200 for my machine shop to do, which i'd rather not afford to do. If i use the X rods, the crank is already balanced for them, and i save myself 450 bucks. I've been told that the main cause of rod failure is RPM, so if i keep it below or at 6000 rpm, the rods should be ok right? Arp bolts everywhere btw...

It was balanced for X rods..but have you changed pistons?Anytime you swap internals you should have it balanced..it is worth the money..even if you have to save a little longer to get it done.Yes RPM's is the biggest cause so if you do keep it under 6k the X rods will be fine with ARP bolts.I have taken many stock rodded motors to 6,500 rpm and they were fine...on juice is another story..the tend to fail easily with even a hint of detonation. That is why I went 4340 on my current 355.

hmm. You know i guess it don't really matter if it runs next week or not. Only reason i was really rushing is because i want the car to be ready to take to the thirdgen nationals, but as i'm thinking about it, this isn't something that should be rushed. I'm thinking now that maybe i should look into something better.
Bout to make yet another new post....sorry folks.
