do i need a larger intake?

i have a 383 with headers, ported 350heads, 224,230 510lift cam, and a holley 750. i am running a performer for a intake and i am always wondering if that is hurting my high end performance? do you guys think about it and would it fit under the hood of a 86Z?

Thanks
Brian

Yeah definatly. The Performer is a stock truck level intake. With that combo you should prolly consider a single plane, or at least a Wieand Stealth dual plane.

I dunno, that air gap manifold loks very intresting. from the little blurb in the edlbrock catalogie, its good for 1500-6500 rpm, where as the performaer is good idle to 5500... the air gap and the performer rpm have the same specs pretty much for air flows too

has anybody have proof that the air gap outperforms the normal rpm? It looks like a cool design, but not for $75 more.

I'm currently using an Air Gap and there was considerable difference between it and the Performer that I replaced. I don't know if there is much difference between it and a standard RPM. Something else to consider is the stock hood won't work with the Air Gap for sure. It's much taller.
